Our Impact

EQUINE-ASSISTED ACTIVITIES AND THERAPIES (EAAT) is rapidly becoming recognized as a treatment vehicle for assisting individuals with disabilities and/or special needs to become more self-sufficient physically, mentally, and cognitively.

Our equine partners, who are always truthful and live in the moment, accept us as we are. They are great teachers. Their responses to our presence, attitudes, and behaviors can help us to be more aware of our strengths and weaknesses.

We see clients regaining self-confidence, adjusting how they relate to others, developing life skills, and best of all, learning to trust!

With therapeutic riding, our clients often experience increased mobility, improvement in thought processes, and a sense of joy. The movement of the equine is very similar to that of the human and helps with neuro “re-wiring”, muscular exercise, and balance.

"After many years & much trying, & a long hiatus, I believe I have found my "place": after a bad experience & a long road, here I can do what I need to do. "Overcoming fear" is a big part, the other (huge part) is learning about horses. One time w/her, & I knew she "saw" me, & understood."

Teresa J.

"It is always exciting when having lessons with Janice. She knows her horses so well, she would match the right horse to the type of rider, which lets me be a little more at ease on safety matters because my 5 year old daughter is taking the lessons. The lessons are very enjoyable and I can't wait to have more lessons with Janice!"

Linn N.

"Amazing instructor!"

Rachel H.

"Janice is more than I was expecting in an instructor. I learned so much about horses. She has a very gentle and loving approach with her horses and her teaching style. I can't wait for my second lesson. Awesome lady!"
